Murder, Murder
serial-killers-101:

Jack the Ripper is a pseudonym given to an unidentified serial killer (or killers) active in the largely impoverished Whitechapel area and adjacent districts of London, England in the latter half of 1888. The name is taken from a letter to the Central News Agency by someone claiming to be the murderer, published at the time of the killings.
The legends surrounding the Ripper murders have become a combination of genuine historical research, conspiracy theory and folklore. The lack of a confirmed identity for the killer has allowed Ripperologists - the term used within the field for the authors, historians and amateur detectives who study the case - to accuse a wide variety of individuals of being the Ripper. Newspapers, whose circulation had been growing during this era, bestowed widespread and enduring notoriety on the killer owing to the savagery of the attacks and the failure of the police in their attempts to capture the Ripper, sometimes missing the murderer at his crime scenes by mere minutes.
Victims were women earning income as casual prostitutes. Typical Ripper murders were perpetrated in a public or semi-public place; the victim’s throat was cut, after which the body was mutilated. Some believe that the victims were first strangled in order to silence them. The removal of internal organs from some victims has led to the proposal that the killer possessed anatomical or surgical knowledge or skill.
The number and names of the Ripper’s victims are the subject of much debate. The canonical five are a subset of the eleven victims listed in the police file documenting what were called “the Whitechapel murders”.

A boy in a small town in Maryland sat down at his computer after getting home from school one day. He turned it on and logged into an instant messaging program, and was then suprised to receive a message from a classmate of his, who had been absent that day.It consisted of two words; “please come”. Confused, the boy sent a reply, asking why he’d been absent that day. After two more messages and fifteen minutes with no response, he decided to get on his bike and head over to his classmate’s house. It was a short ride, only about five minutes away. When he got to the house, he found the door was unlocked. Inside, partially dried blood was splattered over the walls and floors, and an unrecognizable figure was crumpled against the far wall. It was missing an arm and a leg, and bloody streaks on the floor lead away from the body and into the kitchen. The boy slammed the door closed, and immediately called 911 on his cell phone. When the police arrived, they found three corpses, as well as tracks leading away from the house from the back door. The forensics report concluded that the entire family, the boy’s classmate and his parents, had been killed sometime the previous night.

Within days of Robert Black’s birth Jessie Hunter Black decided to have her son put into foster care  He was taken by foster parents in their 50’s, Jack and Margaret Tulip.
To his classmates at primary school Robert - or ‘Smelly Robbie Tulip’ as he was known - is remembered as having been an aggressive and slightly wayward boy. Getting involved in petty crime from a young age. As well as the petty violence, Black was also developing a strange sexual self-awareness, as confessed by Black years later to a prison psychologist,
“I used to push things up my anus”.
After his arrest in 1990 police found photographs that Black had taken of himself: one showed him with a wine-bottle up his anus, another with a telephone-handset, yet another with a table leg. Black also remembers fantasising about excreting on his hands and then rubbing the faeces in. He also always had an uneasy feeling that he would have preferred to have been a girl. But he was not homosexual in his desires.
His foster mother, Margaret Tulip died in 1958 when Black was only 11, and was once again deprived of a mother figure. It was decided that Black would go to a Children’s Home near Falkirk, close to where he was born. It was during Black’s time there that his fascination with sex, and particularly with the vagina, finally drove him across the line from childish experimentation to criminal behaviour.
In 1969 at the age of 12, Black made his first attempt at rape. He was moved several times, finally being moved to a school in London. Once in London he tried out as a footballer, failing due to bad eyesight. He eventually became a lifeguard, he was a keen swimmer and this was great for his paedophile fantasies. He loved swimming and had the choice of two local pools, over 20 years later a little girl called Caroline Hogg was to be abducted from Portobello, and later murdered. Caroline’s house was on the route between two swimming-pools.
In the summer of 1962 when Black was fifteen, his time at the children’s home was up. Black got a job as a delivery boy and found a room to rent in a boys’ home in Greenock, outside Glasgow. He later admitted that while he was doing his delivery rounds he molested 30 or 40 girls. Black’s first conviction came shortly afterwards. The charge was for ‘lewd and libidinous’ behaviour with a young girl. Black, who was now seventeen, had approached a seven-year-old girl in the park, asking her if she would like to go with him to see some kittens. The girl trustingly followed him as he led her to a deserted building. She was later found wandering the streets: bleeding, crying and confused.
Black left Greenock and return to Grangemouth to make a new start. Here he got a job with a builders’ company and rented a room. He also met his first real girlfriend, Pamela Hodgson, and he fell in love, developed a sexual relationship and decided to get engaged, but, she broke off the engagement not long after, and told him it was over.
1978 - thirteen year-old Genette Tate went missing
12th August 1981 - nine year-old Jenifer Cardy disappears on way to friends house
30th July 1982 - eleven year-old Susan Maxwell
8th July 1983 - five year-old Caroline Hogg
The bodies were found within 24 miles of each other - 300 miles from the abductions.
26 March 1986 - ten year-old Sarah Harper
14 July 1990 - attempted abduction of Mandy Wilson. Black is caught red handed after a routine stop. The victim is found tied up and gagged in a sleeping bag in the back of his van, she had been sexually assaulted moments before. Medial experts claimed she was not far from death when police found her.
Wednesday 13 April 1994 Trial - Moot Hall in Newcastle. Black stands trial for the three murders known to police at the time. Susan Maxwell, Caroline Hogg and Sarah Harperr.
Thursday 19th May 1994 - jury find him guilty of three murders
Black is not eligible for parole until at least aged 82, in 2029.

July 1994 - a meeting was held in Newcastle to consider the possibility of Black’s involvement in similar murders. As well as possible murders in France, Amsterdam, Ireland and Germany, there were up to ten unsolved abductions and murders in England which have Black’s MO:

April Fabb Norfolk, 1969
9-year-old Christine Markham Scunthorpe 1973
13-year-old Genette Tate Devon 1978
14-year-old Suzanne Lawrence Essex 1979
16-year-old Colette Aram 1983 since attributed to Paul Hutchinson
14-year-old Patsy Morris 1990
Marion Crofts 1990
Lisa Hession 1990
No conclusion, or charges were reached at the time.

In 1992, after Black had been served with ten summonses, including three for the murder of three little girls, in an attempt to shift the moral responsibility he told officers: “Tell Pamela she’s not responsible for all this”.

10th April 2008 - confirmed that police are to question Black about the murder of Jennifer Cardy, aged nine when she was abducted and murdered in 1981.
Police originally spoke to Black about this case in 2005, but are now looking at taking Black to trial in Northern Ireland.

Friday 22nd September 2011 - Trial starts at Armagh Crown Court. Black denies the abduction and murder of Jenifer Cardy.

Friday 7th October 2011 - In an unusual move the stunned jury is told about Black’s previous convictions. Kidnap and rape, plus the murder of three young girls in the 1980’s.

The prosecution said Black’s past crimes did not in themselves make him guilty of Jennifer’s murder but he claimed striking similarities between the cases would prove it. The prosecution also claimed that work records prove Black was in Northern Ireland on the day Jennifer was killed. The prosecution further claimed petrol receipts would prove that Black was in the area that day and would have driven by the spot known as McKee’s Dam where Jenifer’s body was found.

Thursday 27th October 2011 - Black denied murder, and any connection to Jenifer Cardy.

Black was found guilty of the  kidnap and murder of 9 year old Jenifer Cardy. on the 12th August 1981. Judge Weatherup told Black: “You have been convicted by a jury of murder. There is only one sentence that will be imposed by law. “That’s the sentence of life imprisonment. Accordingly, I sentence you to life imprisonment.”
He then turned to the guards and said: “Take him down please.”

The Torture and Murder of Junko FurutaIn November of 1988, a college student, Junko Furuta, was kidnapped by four youngsters and kept in captivity for 44 days in the house of one of the youngsters parents. To prevent persecution, one of them forced Furuta to lie to her parents, saying she fled home but was safe in a friend’s house. Beyond that, she was also obliged to lie and say she was the girlfriend of one of her captors. The parents of the youngster had thought that it was lie, but there was nothing they could do since one of the abductors was a member of yakuza and threatened to use his connections against them if they said anything to anybody. Day 1: Abducted; maintained in captivity; obliged to show herself as the girlfriend from one of the boys; raped (over 400 times in the total); hunger and malnutrition; made to eat cockroaches and drink her own urine; forced to masturbate; forced to undress in front of others; burned with lighters & cigarettes; objects inserted in the vagina/anus.Day 11: She was beaten countless times; face pushed against the concrete; hands tied to the roof and body utilized like a punching bag;  dumbbells played on her stomach; she vomited when she tried to drink water (her stomach couldn’t accept it); tried to flee and was punished with cigarette burns on the arms; flammable liquid was poured over her feet and legs, burning them; bottle was inserted into her anus, causing wounds.Day 20: Was unable to walk right, due to grave burns in the legs; beaten up with bamboo sticks; fireworks were introduced into the anus and inflamed; hands crushed by pesos and nails cracked; beaten up with golf club; cigarettes inserted in the vagina; beaten up with iron bars; spits of grill chicken inserted in the vagina and in the anus, causing bleeding.Day 30: Hot wax was poured on her face; eyelids burned by lighters; needles inserted into breasts; pulled off her nipple with pliers; hot light bulb inserted in the vagina; shears inserted in the vagina, causing grave hemorrhage; incapable of urination due to this; such grave wounds that she was delayed more than an hour to crawl the stairs to the toilet; eardrums seriously damaged; extreme reduction of the size of the brain.Day 40: She asked her torturers to “kill me and finish soon with that”. Day 44: The four boys mutilated her body with an iron bar; she bled from the mouth and nose; burned her face and eyes with a candle; then they spilled lighter fluid on her legs, arms, face and stomach, and afterwards it burned. The final torture lasted two hours. Junko Furuta died of shock later in the day, in pain and alone. But nothing could compare to the 44 days of suffering that passed. When her mother heard the news and the details of what had been happening to her daughter, she lost it. She had of be submitted to a psychiatric hospital. The boys alleged they didn’t know how injured Junko was, thinking that she were pretending. They concealed the body in a cylinder of 55 full gallons of cement, ridding of it in Koto, Tokyo. Finally, the boys were tried as adults and imprisoned, but their identities were kept a secret from the public, thanks to the Japanese Law concerning crimes committed by minors.

ramirezdahmerbundy:

A clearing in the forested hills above the Molalla River at Oregon City was the scene of the torture and murder of seven women - all of them known prostitutes - during the summer of 1987. Three of the bodies were found with their feet cut off. These deaths were the extension of violence begun long before. At the 1989 trial of Dayton Leroy Rogers, Melody Dahlman Myers testified that in 1972, 19-year-old Rogers had taken her to the woods and stabbed her in the abdomen. Even though he had been married for six weeks, he said he would marry her and take her to the hospital if she would claim to have done the damage herself. He took her for help, but Myers told the truth and Rogers was arrested. He pleaded guilty to second degree assault and was placed on probation. Thus the violence began, interspersed with a very different life in which Rogers was active in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and ran his own small-engine repair business. As demonstrated with Myers, the knife had become an important tool in Rogers’ quest for sexual gratification. One woman testified at his trial that in 1976, she had been picked up by Rogers. They had sat and talked in his truck until she had to leave. At that point, he drew his knife and began to cut her clothes from her. Then he hog-tied her and began to play with her feet, finally threatening to kill her. After releasing the woman, he was charged with kidnapping and returned to prison for violating his parole. Hog-tying became a theme of Rogers in seeking sexual satisfaction. He began taking prostitutes to the woods where he would, usually with their permission, tie them around the wrists and ankles and then fasten the two together, so that they were bent over backwards. He then proceeded to cut them on the heels or breasts with a sharp knife. Forty to fifty prostitutes described his similar treatment of them. The eleven who testified at the trial said that as long as they protested and fought, he would be in a frenzy and continue to cut them, but once they had given up and became submissive, he lost interested and ultimately took them back to town. A woman whom he picked up in 1986 testified that after they had several vodkas, he bit her breasts and feet, drawing blood.
The increasing violence culminated during the summer of 1967. On August 6, Rogers picked up Portland prostitute Jennifer Lisa in his truck. He spent the next twenty-four hours with her and at some point bound her up in the way that had become his signature. When he drove her back to town, she leapt out of his truck in front of a Denny’s Restaurant where he pursued her. He caught up with Smith and stabbed her to death. Broken shoelaces used to bind her were found on her body. He was arrested and charged with aggravated murder. He called his father-in-law (soon to be ex - because his wife divorced him after he was arrested) to ask if the police had searched the stove in his workshop. They had not, but when they did, they found numerous metal bits of shoes, belts, bras, hooks, and other items indicating that women’s clothing had been burned. Rogers said that the bits were from Smith’s and his own clothing, and the police at that time had no good reason to question the sheer quantity of the metal pieces. Rogers was found guilty of the murder of Smith and sentenced to life in prison. In the meantime, however, the nude bodies of seven women, tortured and sexually abused, had been found on an isolated lumbering road back in the forests above the Molalla River. Three of the bodies had the feet cut off, and a fourth had been severely wounded around the ankles. A leather dog collar bound the wrists of one victim. Broken bits of shoelaces tied in the same knots that had been used on Smith’s body, as well as miniature vodka bottles and orange juice containers, were found near each body. Rogers was charged with the aggravated murder of the six women whose bodies were identified. An all-woman jury found him Guilty on May 4, 1989. According to Oregon law, the death penalty can be imposed only if the jury believes that the killer is likely to pose a threat to society if he is not put to death. The penalty phase of Rogers’ trial included the testimony of his brother-in-law, Floyd Mohr, various psychiatrists, and the women who could demonstrate his violent behavior had been going on for a long time. Also testifying, however, were friends who told of his caring and devotion to a prison ministry that he had started while he was in inmate. The deputy district attorney said in his closing statement to the jury, “That person is a walking time bomb. That person is an act of criminal violence looking for a place to happen… He’s capable of fooling psychologists. He’s capable of fooling psychiatrists. I hope to God he’s not capable of fooling you.” The jury deliberated for seventeen and a half hours over two days before returning a vote in favor of execution by lethal injection

Rogers was found guilty of the murder of Smith and sentenced to life in prison. serial-killers-101:

Wayne Clifford Boden
Also known as the Vampire Killer
Wayne killed at least three women in Montreal and one in Calgary, between 1969 and 1971. He had a habit of viciously biting the breasts of his victims.
Different than many serial killers, Boden knew most of the women he killed. Friends and co-workers of the victims identified him, but sadly police circulated the wrong suspect photo. Wayne fled to Calgary.
There, he murdered a schoolteacher. The woman’s breasts had been mauled, as his ongoing trademark, and Calgary police instantly made the connection thankfully to the vampire killings in Montreal.
His trial was the first in North America to ever use dental forensics as evidence, or bite marks as evidence, to convict a killer. He received three life sentences, and served time at the Kingston Penitentiary. He died of cancer in 2006. No one attended funeral services and to this date have visited his grave. I might have only to set it on fire.
